POULTRY PROJECT
Hope for Women Uganda in partnership with Luana Foundation in
implementing a poultry keeping project that lasted for one year. Women were trained in local keeping management and some ducks were also supplied to each beneficiary. Also a demonstration farm was established in Kidodo for learning. Michael our volunteer was the intermediary supervisor to access its performance. A team from the donor agency visited the project and good recommendation was given. 120 beneficiaries benefited from this project for social economic empowerment.
ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT-LIQUID SOAP MAKING PROJECT
Hope for Women Uganda again was supported by Frauen Fur
Entwicklung-Germany in implementing another useful project which is liquid soap making where 120 women have gained skills in soap making as one to become self-reliant. 75 women have started their own business in
soap selling from the 3 sub counties of Kyondo, Kitabu and Kyarumba. The project was implemented in order to curb poverty among marginalized
women and youth.
VEGETABLE MICRO-GARDENING
Hope for Women Uganda started a micro gardening vegetable project
among families in Kitabu, Mahango and Kahokya to fight malnutrition
among 350 families which were identified during a baseline survey.
Children were under nourished and this project has greatly improved on the
life of young children from being attacked by aneamia and other nutritional
related diseases like kwashiorkor, night blindness, scurvy.
